Develop innovative software for a more sustainable semiconductor industry
Shape the future of semiconductor manufacturers with us
algorismic has been around since 2023 because we saw how much potential there is in the data from machines in subfabs in the semiconductor industry. Our solutions make operating data visible in real time and enable systems to be operated more efficiently and sustainably.
With agile project management, smart code and many years of industry knowledge, we ensure that sustainability is not just a vision, but can be measured in practice. We welcome everyone who wants to make a difference with us.

Why "algorismic"? Does the name have something to do with algorithms?
Yes, of course. Not only does the name start with "a" and sound cool, it also describes pretty much exactly what we do. It's a play on words made up of algorithm and microelectronics. Algorithm stands for our solution - smart software and data-driven models. Microelectronics reveals the environment in which we do this - semiconductors, wafers, etc.
What is IIoT? Isn't there one "I" too many in there?
No, the "I" stands for "Industrial". IIoT is, figuratively speaking, the big brother of IoT that works in work shoes. With IIoT, machines, systems and sensors are networked in production. The devices constantly transmit data - temperature, consumption and whatever else is relevant. This information is analyzed and helps to control processes more intelligently. IIoT makes the factory digitally fit and is more robust and secure than the related technology for end consumers.
What is a subfab?
A subfab is, figuratively speaking, the "machine cellar" in the semiconductor plant. It is located under the production floor, the clean room floor, where wafers are turned into high-tech without dust. It supplies the machines in the clean room with gas, chemicals, electricity and cooling and also disposes of their exhaust gases and waste water. Why downstairs - i.e. "sub"? Because the machines hum, generate heat and particles and need a lot of cables that would be disruptive in the cleanroom.
How exactly does your software make chip production sustainable?
In short, we make the semiconductor manufacturer's basement smart so that cleaner chips come off the production line in the clean room upstairs. Explained in more detail, our software makes chip production more sustainable through the targeted optimization of subfab processes. The subfab is the supply and disposal level of semiconductor plants, which was previously considered a "blind spot", as the consumption of energy, water, chemicals and other resources there was often not very transparent and inefficient. Our software enables the operation of exhaust gas purification systems (abatements), pumps and other subfab equipment to be dynamically adapted to the actual production requirements in real time. As a result, these systems only run when and as intensively as is really necessary - which saves energy and resources.
Do you develop your own software products or do you do customized service work for your customers?
Both - we have our own products and build special solutions if required. Our own software "Subfab360 ATC" is constantly being optimized and is the solid basis that we can modularly adapt to individual processes. This gives our customers plenty of scope for their desired features based on tried-and-tested code.
Which tech stack do you use and for which platform do you develop?
C++, GitLab, Cmake, Pytest - we develop pure Linux food. If you would like to know more, please write to us - we look forward to hearing from you!
"Move fast and break things" - or what is your unofficial motto?
Our credo and customer promise is: "Move smart, test twice, ship once." At algorismic, it's not about fast-fast, bling-bling. We build code that lasts, check changes in the pair review and chase them through the test pipeline before they are allowed into production. Speed yes - but only if quality and responsibility go hand in hand.
How big is your team?
We are a small but powerful team of developers, tech support professionals and project managers. Naturally with flat hierarchies in a tech startup. Decisions are not made across floors, but around a table. Instead of a rigid ticket assembly line, you have real creative freedom: pitching ideas, thinking along with the architecture, building prototypes quickly - everything is welcome.
Are most of the people here German-speaking or do they tend to speak English?
We are "multilingual" and switch daily between German when chatting and English on the ticket board. At the moment, our spoken everyday language is actually still German. In writing, however, almost everything is in English. But please don't worry, if your English or German is still shaky, we'll be happy to help you with any vocabulary gaps. The main thing is that you talk to us - developers who talk are expressly welcome here.
Are you on a first-name basis and in a hoodie or on a first-name basis and in a shirt?
We're on a first-name basis - in a hoodie and slippers in the office.
What about the lunch culture?
Hunger doesn't stand a chance here: we have a sacred "kebab day". If you're looking for a change, go to "Pizza Bobby" diagonally opposite or order a portion of vitamins without remorse from "Lehmüse". If you're a home cook, you can simply turn the spatula on our small hotplate or put what you've brought along in the microwave.
Do you have flexible working hours and how exactly are they organized?
We work together from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (core working hours) - that's when we're all available for stand-ups, weeklies and the like. The rest of the day is up to you: early bird start or late deep work block until the evening - everything is fine as long as you reach your agreed working hours. Plus hours automatically go into your flexitime account. If there's enough of a buffer there, you simply take time off - as agreed, of course.
And is it possible to work from home?
Of course - you can work in your mobile office two days a week. On Mondays, we all meet in the office to get the week off to a good start together.
How many vacation days do you have?
30 vacation days - full program.
Which languages do you have on your website and why exactly these?
algorismic.com is available in four languages: German as our home turf language, English for the global semiconductor audience and - because many fabs are located in China and Taiwan - traditional Chinese for Taiwan and simplified Chinese for China.
Which system do you work with? Windows, macOS or Linux?
We program under Linux.
Can you also help shape algorismic or do you work off other people's concepts?
You are clearly a co-creator with us. Our developers contribute their ideas from the very first scribble, and that's exactly what we expect from you.
How does the application process work for you?
That's how it works for us:
- First contact with CV: You send us your application with CV, we will get back to you quickly.
- Team fit & skills interview: We look at each other to see if we fit together well and you also feel us out. Once on a personal level and once on a skills level. Both interviews are conducted by our management team.
- Trial day: If it clicks on both sides, you come along for a day, work with the team and find out what makes the place tick.
- Does everything fit? Contract, signature, welcome coffee.
So no assessment marathon - two interviews, one trial day, done.
